Our Processes

Washed

The washed coffee process, also known as the wet process, is a more modern and efficient method of coffee processing. In this process, the coffee cherries are pulped to remove the outer layer of skin and fruit, leaving behind a mucilage layer that covers the bean. The beans are then fermented in water for several hours to loosen and remove the mucilage, after which they are washed and dried.

Anaerobic

The anaerobic coffee process is a newer and more experimental method of coffee processing that involves fermenting the coffee beans in a sealed, oxygen-free environment. This process can create unique and complex flavor profiles in the coffee, as the lack of oxygen allows for the growth of different bacteria and yeasts during fermentation.

Natural

The natural coffee process, also known as the dry process, is the oldest and most traditional method of coffee processing. In this process, ripe coffee cherries are harvested and spread out to dry in the sun for several weeks, during which time the fruit and skin of the cherry shrink and dry out, leaving the bean inside. The beans are then hulled to remove the dried fruit and skin, and sorted by size and quality.

Color Sorting the Coffee Cherry's

Regardless of the processing method used, our post-harvest coffee processing involves the use of a color sorting machine to remove any defective or discolored beans. These machines use advanced technology to sort beans based on their color and size, ensuring that only high-quality beans make it through to the final product. This helps us improve the consistency and flavor of the coffee, and is especially useful for our large-scale coffee production.

Eco-Friendly Production

We are proud to be an eco-friendly farm and are always looking for ways to improve our sustainability practices to reduce our environmental footprint.

We have invested in the best and latest machinery developed by Pinhalense, a leading manufacturer of coffee processing equipment. This machinery not only maximizes efficiency but also helps us minimize our environmental impact by reducing water consumption and preventing wastewater contamination.

Sustainability

We are proud to share that our family's impact in the productive and commercial development of the Bolivian coffee industry has been recognized and honored by the municipal government of the region of Caranavi with the "Grano de Oro" award, which translates to "golden bean". This prestigious award acknowledges our commitment to excellence and our dedication to creating sustainable jobs in our community.

We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our coffee farm remains a shining example of excellence and corporate social responsibility.
